THE SPACE
The Spareroom is a work space, ideal for rehearsals, workshops, classess, and work-in-progress shows. We have more than 1,200 square feet of usable space. Our builidng, located in the industrial area of West Humboldt Park, houses artists' studios, as well as cabinet makers, recording studios, and all manner of diverse and friendly people.

We are committed to showing and making time-based artwork that crosses disciplines and takes risks.

OPPORTUNITY
We support our member artists by providing rehearsal, curatorial, promotional and exhibition opportunities.

AUTONOMY
Unlike traditional galleries and theaters, our cooperative gives a community of artists the space to create and exhibit interdisciplinary work on their own terms.

COMMUNITY
We support the time-arts communities by being a source for exhibition opportunities and a space for dialogue and community building.

We support our physical community by actively being a part of the Humboldt Park neighborhood and bringing art spaces into greater visibility.
